There are five categories wines are separated in: sparkling, white, red, rose and dessert wines. Sparkling wines which are perfect holiday toasts and celebration, they are fermented twice to produce carbon dioxide in the wine. It's called Champagne if the wine originated from France otherwise it is sparkling wine. California, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa are known produce some best sparkling wines. Under the sparkling wines follows: Champagne-France; Champagne-Style Sparkling Wine-California, New Zealand; Prosecco-Italy and Cavas-Spain.
The second category is white wine is produced by removing the skins from grapes to get clear color and fermented in stainless steel or oak barrel and aged before bottling, the longer aging process the richer, the creamy and fruity.
Under white wines are: Sauvignon Blanc made in California and France; Pinot Grigo/Gris from Italy, France & California; Rieling from region Germany & California; Gewurztraminer from France (Alsace) & California; Chardonnay-France(Burgundy), California(Napa&Sonoma); Chenin Blanc made in France(Loire Valley) California: Viognien -France (Rhone Valley) & Italy (Tuscany); Semillon from region France (Bordeaux) Washington & California
The third category are Rose Wines that are dry and crisp bursting juicy fruit flavor. Wine is made fermented by skins of the red grapes and usually served chilled after purchased. Under Rose wines are Merlot made in France (Bordeaux) and California; Mourvedre from region France (Bandol); Syrah from France(Rhone & Languedoc) California and Australia; Grenache made in France(Tavel), Spain (Riojas & Navarra) California; Pinot Noir from region France (Marsennay & Sancerre) California ( Napa, Sonoma & Santa Barbara)
The fourth category are Red Wines which has smooth and earthy taste meaning robust and rich. It fermented with red grapes skins for that rich dark red color and aged in oak barrels for years before bottling. Under Red Wines are: Gamay from region France (Beaujolais); Grenacle, regions France(Cote-du-Rhone), Australia; Pinot Noir, regions France, California, Oregon, New Zealand, Australia and Chile.;Sangiovese, regions Italy (Tuscany) California & Argentina; Merlot, regions France, Italy, California (Napa Valley), Washington, Chile and Argentina.; Tempranillo, regions Spain (Rioja) California and Argentina. Red wines are great barbecue wine.
The Fifth category are Dessert Wines which is a sweet wine, for the best taste the grapes are left on the vines past the harvest date making sure grapes are at their full ripeness. Under Dessert wines are: Muscat from regions France, Italy, California and Australia; Semillon, regions France (Bordeaux) California and Australia. Vin Santo made in Italy. Port from region Portugal. Dessert wines are best served with cheeses and desserts.
